The Hazardous Waste Program establishes requirements for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Companies should adopt this program as an extension of their overall safety and health program and to implement the OSHA standard “Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response”, 29 C.F.R. §1910.120.

That OSHA standard requires that: Each employer shall develop and implement a safety and health program for its employees involved in hazardous waste operations.

Personnel actively involved in investigations and cleanup at a hazardous waste site must be thoroughly familiar with health and safety programs and procedures and must be specially trained to work safely in contaminated areas.

This program comes in a PDF document format and can be easily edited to fit your company’s specific requirements.

Topics covered include:

  • Personal Protective Equipment Requirements;
  • Organizational Plan;
  • Monitoring;
  • Site Specific Program;
  • Decontamination Procedures;
  • Site Evaluation and Control;
  • Medical Surveillance Program;
  • Information and Training;
  • Emergency Response Program; and
  • Recordkeeping.
